The drink program here speaks softly of creativity and care. Cocktails arrive with a thoughtful mix of familiar warmth and unexpected notes—think a beautifully balanced Old Fashioned or a hibiscus-infused spritz that carries both brightness and subtle floral depth. These aren’t just beverages; they are companions to the kind of quiet conversations and moments of pause that make a good night memorable.

Food at Gold Dust Meridian complements this unpretentious spirit with dishes that feel like an elevated nod to comforting classics. Whether it’s indulging in creamy tomato soup alongside a parmesan-crusted grilled cheese or enjoying a plate of crispy calamari that pairs seamlessly with one of the spirited cocktails, the menu supports the simple joy of good company and thoughtfully prepared bites. There’s an ease to the kitchen’s approach that mirrors the bar’s relaxed confidence.

Outside, the option of quieter seating creates a gentle escape from the street’s urban buzz—a detail that feels especially welcoming on a warm evening. The staff here contribute to the overall flow with a genuine warmth and attentiveness, moving with a quiet confidence that enhances the feeling that you’ve found a place to come back to, again and again.

Gold Dust Meridian doesn’t shout for attention. Instead, it quietly inhabits its corner of the city with an authenticity that grows richer with each visit. This is one of those spots that just gets it right. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, with a cool retro vibe that works perfectly for a casual night out. The cocktails are excellent, creative, well balanced, and consistently well made. The food was solid and satisfying, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. A great neighborhood bar that always feels easy to come back to.

I came in late afternoon/early evening on July 4th. They were busier than expected and the staff absolutely crushed it. Shoutout to Chris behind the bar and John in the kitchen. Great people, great at their jobs. Never had a bad experience here and I’ve been coming in on and off for years!

Ive always enjoyed the cocktails here. I have not tried their food yet. They have outdoor seating in the front and back (more quiet in back seating without street/car noise as its a busy road). We went there yesterday because they were participating in Bite for Rights fundraiser!

A great place to stop for a drink, or a meal if you choose. The comfortable dining room paired with kind and helpful staff make for a great time when out with friends, or even on your own! I hope to come back when in Portland again.

Drinks are the best I have had in Portland and the food is divine. Prices are totally fair and I can't wait to go back! Love the decor and the music and pretty much everything about this loungy bar.

Cocktails, staff, decor and atmosphere was excellent! Nice place to go to for good cocktail and conversation. Nice booths and tables for people to sit at inside and out. Mia (hope I spelt her name right) was great, she was able to make a couple cocktails that are my favorites not on their menu.

Wanted a place for New Year's that would be both chill enough to get to know some folks for the first time but lively enough to feel like the right place to bring him the New Year. I called the day before and spoke with a really lovely human on the phone named Chris I believe who gave me the rundown and assured me that it would be the right vibe. We showed up on years around 8:00 and it was already bopping but there was still plenty of cozy seating and my party and I sat down in the sort of little high-backed circular booth that you might imagine the godfather receiving tribute in. The DJ was skilled and the music inspiring enough to dance to but not overwhelming for conversation. Drinks were lovely, staff were quick and fun and I will definitely return.

Great front and kitchen staff! Patio! Happy hour is 2 PM - 8 PM, all day Sunday (10/25/2014.) Update: still same in 2024. 2025. The BEET salad (and added chicken) pictured is AMAZING! It's the kind of BEET dish that could turn your "friend who swore to hate beets" into a beet believer! Yum! Great sidewalk patio seating, atmosphere (decor straight out of the 70's), lgbtq friendly..
